Youth Group

Our Priorities

As our covenant children mature into adolescence, we desire to see them trust in our Triune Lord, grow in the knowledge of His word, and cultivate strong healthy friendships with those around them. We hope to see our teens profess faith and become communing members of the church as they grow into Godly, mature adults. To that end, the youth ministry is centered around Christ, biblical fellowship, and the Word of God. This group is not intended to keep students from participating in the life of the church, rather it is intended to spur them on to greater maturity and participation in the life of the church and weekly corporate worship.

Our Programs

Sunday Mornings

Our youth catechism class for middle and high school students meets during the pre-service Sunday School hour and is taught by the ministers and elders of Sovereign Grace Church. Together, students study the Heidelberg Catechism, exploring the foundations of Reformed faith and life while learning to apply biblical truth with conviction and grace.

Youth are present for the entire morning worship service, participating alongside the rest of the congregation. We believe it is vital for young people to see themselves as part of the church—not apart from it—joining in prayer, singing, and the hearing of God’s Word. In this way, they grow in faith through worship, community, and the ordinary means of grace.  

Mid-Week

Our mid-week youth group study meets from 6:15 to 8:30 on Wednesday nights. This weekly program consists of fellowship through singing, bible study, discussion, prayer, and age-appropriate games.

The youth group gathers for other events and activities throughout the year on a quarterly or annual basis. Please reach out to Seth Jacobs for more information regarding the youth ministry and its programs.
